“Saturday night Swedish police were in the defensive when a group of 20 to 30 young people attacked them with stones and Molotov cocktails. …
“A witness saw a large group of young people marching towards the center of Rågsved where the school is located. The witness suspected the group of wanting to smash the school,” said police spokesman, Elisabeth Wernsten, to Sweden Radio.
“One of the people in the group had a baseball bat. When police tried to confront them, the youths began to throw rocks and fire bombs.” …
Later, the police, however, got control of the situation, and on Sunday morning Stockholm Police reported that 11 people had been arrested in connection with the unrest. All aged 16-19 years.
Several cars were set on fire during the incident, including a couple of patrol cars, and a local police station was also damaged.
Subsequently, we have found stone heaps and ready-made Molotov cocktails, which has strengthened the police’ suspicion that the riots in one way or another was planned.
“Considering how many they were and how this came about, there must have been some form of planning behind. You do not walk around with Molotov cocktails in the pants in everyday life,” says Elisebeth Wernsten, spokesman for the police to Aftonbladet.'”
